Server/Servant

To be clear: there is a difference between being a server and being a servant:

Example: as a server I’m more than happy to explain every dish on the menu, (especially if you have an allergy or restriction), to cater to you, to give you tastes of all the wines by the glass and to make sure that you have the best experience possible…..that is my job. It is NOT my job to be responsible for  chilling your breast milk, to pick the mushrooms off of your plate, to go to the  store and get you ibuprofen for your headache or go outside, on the sidewalk, and bring your tardy dinner companion a menu so we can get his order……..if this is the type of service you require, then may I respectfully request that you  hire a personal assistant. Servers, Bartenders, Captains, etc are just as educated and professional as you and your colleagues…please remember that and act accordingly.
